Spoil Mum with some homemade Mothers day bath bombs
Here is a fantastic way of spoiling mum on Mothers Day. Surprise her with some luxurious collagen bath bombs. They are really simple to make and will provide mum with a relaxing bath that treats her skin to the long-lasting positive effects of collagen. Using this bath bomb consistently over time can leave skin feeling moisturised, young, and healthy.
To make this bath bomb, you are going to need a few ingredients you probably have around the house. However, you will have to purchase a mould if you want your bath bombs to be circular. Otherwise, you can use any other mould you own. Also, try switching up the scents and colours of your bath bombs by adding various essential oils and food colouring. This recipe is simple and will only take you a few minutes to make!
1/2 cup of collagen
1/2 cup baking soda
1/2 cup citric acid
1/3 cup Epsom salts
1/2 cup cornstarch
3 tbsp coconut oil
3 tbsp water
A few drops of essential oils of choice (for scent)
Food colouring (enough to give the powder a pastel colour)
- Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl
- In a smaller bowl, mix oil, water, and essential oils
- Add the liquid to the solid only a few drops at a time, mixing with your hands as you go
- Continue until the liquid is fully incorporated and your mixture holds together a bit like wet sand
- Push the mixture into moulds and let dry 24 hours.
