Naturally Healthy Homemade Jelly

Looking for a healthy and natural jelly alternative for your family? Use Nutraviva’s grass fed and finished Beef Gelatin powder to make these easy, delicious gummy treats that are perfect for the whole family and naturally supports gut & digestive health.

Preparation time: 10 minutes.

Ingredients

  • One tablespoon (10g) of Nutraviva Beef Gelatin powder
  • 80mls of cold water to bloom (thicken) gelatin
  • 200mls of natural juice of choice (not pineapple)
  • Hollowed out citrus halves or moulds

Method:

  1. Prepare moulds for holding the gelatin mixture. You can choose to use moulds or containers, or for fun try using hollowed out citrus halves if using squeezed citrus juice. The trick is to make sure you remove any remaining pulp; this helps with presentation.
  2. Dissolve one tablespoon of Nutraviva Beef Gelatin powder into 80mls of cold water into a jug or container that will hold at least 400mls of liquid.
  3. Stir the gelatin mixture thoroughly and then allow mixture to ‘bloom’ for about one minute. The liquid will begin to be absorbed by the gelatin powder and thicken.
  4. Microwave for 20 to 30 seconds to dissolve the gelatin well. Be careful as this mixture will be quite hot.
  5. Add a further 200mls of natural juice and stir well.
  6. Carefully pour mixture into moulds. If using citrus moulds, you will need to use a container to allow the jelly in the moulds to remain in a position that keeps the gelatin mixture sitting flat.
  7. Allow to set in the refrigerator for a couple of hours or leave overnight.
  8. If you are using plastic moulds and want to release the jelly from the mould to keep its shape, place the bottom of the mould for a couple of seconds into hot water. Don't leave too long though or the jelly will begin to melt closest to the edge of the mould.
  9.  If using the citrus moulds you can choose to add some chia seeds to create a similar presentation as our picture.
  10. Once set slice jelly and consume within a week (trust us, they won't last that long though). Enjoy!
