MOISTURISING GELATIN HAIR TREATMENT

MOISTURISING GELATIN HAIR TREATMENT
Posted on

This moisturising gelatin hair treatment is the most natural protein treatment rich in keratin  you could use on your hair. Great for both healthy or dry and brittle hair, it leaves hair stronger and shinier with each application. The keratin found in our NesProteins Beef Gelatin binds to weak areas of the hair shaft to strengthen and help to repair damage done by heat, sun, and even chemical-laden hair products. This treatment is best done on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, as a higher frequency can cause hair to get tough.

Gelatin Hair Treatment

Yields: 1 hair treatment

½ c. filtered water*

1 tbsp. NesProteins Grass Fed Beef Gelatin

2 tsp. apple cider vinegar

10 drops essential oils of choice (optional)**

Directions:

Add the NesProteins Beef Gelatin to the filtered water in a small saucepan and let stand 3 minutes to bloom. Turn the heat to low and whisk until the gelatin has melted. Take the pan off of the heat and add the apple cider vinegar, honey, and essential oils (if using). Allow the mix to cool slightly before applying.

Pour the mix into a squeeze bottle for easier application (optional) and apply to dry, dirty hair. Once saturated, leave the treatment on for 10-15 minutes (any longer may cause the treatment to get dry, crusty, and hard to rinse out). Shampoo and condition, as normal.

Notes:

*For those with dry hair: substitute coconut milk for the filtered water for added moisture. Or add 2 teaspoons of honey to the mix before applying.

**To choose essential oils:

Dry hair: sandalwood, lavender, or geranium

Normal hair: lavender, cedar wood, or clary sage

Oily hair: rosemary, lemon, or cypress
