Nordic Marine Collagen vs our Original Marine Collagen: What’s the Difference?
At Nutraviva, we’re always exploring ways to provide high-quality collagen powder options while maintaining transparency about sourcing and production.
Recently, we introduced Nutraviva Nordic Marine Collagen, a new marine collagen powder we are currently trialling with our customers in our Black Label/BULK collection before moving to a full branded production run.
Many customers have asked how it compares to our existing Nutraviva Marine Collagen, which is made from single-species North Atlantic cod. While both products deliver high-quality collagen peptides, there are a few important differences worth understanding.
Our Original Marine Collagen: Single-Species North Atlantic Cod
Nutraviva Marine Collagen has long been one of our core products and is made from wild-caught North Atlantic cod. Single-species marine collagen powder is often preferred by customers looking for a highly traceable collagen source with consistent raw material sourcing.
Our original Marine Collagen 280g and Black Label Marine Collagen 600g are:
💠Sourced from wild-caught North Atlantic cod
💠Pure hydrolysed marine collagen peptides
💠Naturally organic and MSC certified for sustainable sourcing
💠Known for its smooth mixing and neutral taste
💠Popular with customers seeking collagen for skin, hair and beauty routines
This product remains an important part of the Nutraviva range and continues to be widely used by customers across Australia.
Introducing Nordic Marine Collagen 600g
Nutraviva Nordic Marine Collagen powder is a multi-species marine collagen sourced from Norwegian waters.
Instead of being derived from a single fish species, it is produced from a blend of wild Nordic fish species, including North Atlantic cod, Haddock, Saithe and Pollock. These fish are sustainably sourced and processed into hydrolysed marine collagen peptides that dissolve easily and can be added to everyday beverages.
The goal of introducing Nordic Marine Collagen is to provide a high-quality, everyday marine collagen option with excellent value per serving.
What Are the Key Differences?
While both products provide marine collagen peptides, the primary differences come down to species sourcing and positioning within the range.

Why are we trialling Nordic Marine Collagen?
As a small Australian-owned business, we regularly review new ingredient sources that meet our quality standards. Our Nordic Marine Collagen powder is currently being trialled with our customers before committing to a full production run. This allows us to gather customer feedback, evaluate long-term demand, and ensure the product meets our expectations.
Customer feedback plays an important role in shaping future Nutraviva product releases. If you’re curious about Nordic Marine Collagen, we’d love to hear your feedback as we continue trialling this product.
Which Marine Collagen Should You Choose?
The choice between Nordic Marine Collagen and our original Marine Collagen powder comes down to personal preference. Some customers prefer the traceability of single-species cod collagen, while others are happy to choose a multi-species Nordic marine collagen as an everyday collagen supplement. Both options provide highly bioavailable marine collagen peptides that can easily be incorporated into a daily routine.
